Twilight Garden

These are blocks I just finished from a 2005 BOM. It is fused and machine appliqued. Don't think I could have done the hand needleturn with these tiny pieces. I used lots of batiks and I love all the bright colors. I need to decide how I want to set them. The original pattern has stars in the sashings that separate the blocks. It won't be very big, but it sure is colorful.

Plaid Stars

Several months ago I started looking for thrift store plaid and striped shirts to do a quilt from Bonnie's site she calls Smokey Mtn. Star. I took them all apart and cut out the pieces I'd need but I didn't start sewing them until a few days ago. I loved making this top! It went together really fast and I double sewed to get the bonus HST's also. I don't think I have any fabric in my stash suitable for the borders so I'll have to purchase it, but I think I'll really like this when it's finished. Very soft!!! And I have tons of fabric left over from the shirts. I told my sister she can have them if she wants to make one.
