Snowy Weekend

We had lots of snow this weekend, so I just stayed home and played with fabric. What fun!!!

I have a 3 day retreat coming up the first weekend in March, so I've been trying to decide which of my many projects that I want to work on there. Because of that, I spent a lot of time planning and cutting. There will probably be about 45 ladies there and we have a great time sewing, eating, laughing, etc. I'm really looking forward to it.

I sewed a little more on the "I Believe" Christmas quilt, and I also worked on some Ohio stars (I want to do one like Quiltville's Random Ohio stars) I'll post a picture when I get a few more completed.

WIP and one that's finished

"I Believe"......

Here are pictures of the sections that I worked on. I think I have 6 out of 11 applique sections completed. Adding the flying geese and the HSTs have really made me see what it's going to look like and I'm pleased.

The Ohio Star table runner is something I started in November with hopes of using for Christmas, but ended up putting it aside. I finally finished it in January. Machine pieced and hand quilted. The cream fabric has cardinals on it.

Happy Valentine's Day

Hope everyone is having a great Valentine's Day. We had snow over the weekend (and school was cancelled yesterday). I was able to sew a little so I was happy. Had to work on the income taxes yesterday so that cut into my "quilty" time.

I'm working on several projects, but the one I did the most sewing on this weekend was a Christmas quilt designed by Pat Sloan...called "I Believe." It's going to be so cute when it's finished, but it is a LOT of work. Lots of applique. I'm doing it by machine, but it still takes a lot of time.

I'll try to post some pics.

This is a top that needs to be quilted. I found the perfect snowman fabric at a discount fabric place. I think it is originally from Joann's. It has little red snowmen all over it.

New to this

I've enjoyed reading so many of the "quilt-related" blogs that I thought I might try to create one too. I really am a novice at this 'blogging" so please overlook my goofs.

I have always loved sewing and many different types of crafts. My mother taught me to sew at a young age, so it seems like I've done it forever.

Made my first real quilt during college, and I've made many more over the past 25 years or so. I love to quilt and wish I had more time for it. I work full time and have two teenaged boys so my free time is limited.

I have several quilt in progress right now. There are three tops completed, but not yet quilted. I also have a quilt I am in the process of hand quilting.

My goal for 2o06 is to get the tops quilted and to finish these "UFO's" before starting anything new.
